Jolly Roger Flags

The skull-and-crossbones flag dates back to the 17th century, it's reported a pirate named John Quelch flew a black flag with some type of skeleton design he called "Old Roger" which was the nickname for the devil. In those days flying a Jolly Roger flag, a generic term for a black pirates flag was a way of identifying oneself a pirate.
